Mining Skills Australia’s animation department, Motion Curve, is on the hunt for a 3D Animator to join the team and assist across current and future projects.

This is an in-office position based in the Brisbane CBD.

What we are looking for:

The ideal candidate will have a one or more of the
following:

Minimum of 12 months industry experience.
A degree in 3D Animation or equivalent discipline (3D Art and Game Development are also desirable)
Interns near completion of their Animation degree will also be considered.
Proficiency in Blender, Unreal Engine 5, and the Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Premiere, Substance Painter)
Bonus points for knowledge of rigging in Blender and Unreal Engine
A portfolio of up-to-date work that demonstrates your ability as a 3D artist
Team player who works towards building strong relationships with colleagues in a fast-paced work environment
Strong communication skills and the ability to problem-solve and deliver high quality work within tight deadlines

KEY RESPONSIBLITIES:

Execute the full 3D production pipeline (Pre-Production to Post-Production)
Create and develop engaging concept and storyboards from client briefs
Model and unwrap assets in Blender
Texture assets in Substance Painter
Develop real-time environments in Unreal Engine 5
Light and Render animations in Unreal Engine 5
Edit and finalise animations in Premiere
Liaising with clients (as required)
Actioning feedback and edits from clients and other team members
Meeting delivery deadlines
Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work proficiently in a fast-paced team environment

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:

Mining Skills Australia is seeking a versatile individual to join team Motion Curve, our Animation department. This individual will play a crucial role in the development of interactive 3D applications, bespoke applications for 3rd parties and interfacing to other hardware and software platforms.

This is an in-office position based in the Brisbane CBD.

What we are looking for:

Bachelor’s Degree in Game Development, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
Possess a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in game development
Proficiency in Unreal Engine, Unity, C# and C++ programming
Proficiency in Virtual Reality and Mixed Reality programming
Strong understanding of 3D graphics principles and content creation pipelines
Experience with 3D modelling and animation software (e.g., Blender)
Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills
Knowledge of networking and traditional programming languages (C, C#, C++)
Portfolio of previous Unreal Engine & Unity projects showcasing 3D content creation skills
You are passionate about producing high quality work
Self-motivated and passionate about pushing the boundaries of 3D visualisation
Strong communication skills, highly organised and excellent attention to detail
Ability to work autonomously and within a team environment
Creative and the ability to develop engaging content

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Create and integrate 3D assets, animations, and effects
Implement gameplay features and mechanics
Debug and optimize code for performance
Stay updated on industry trends and best practices
Able to collaborate with engineers, designers, artists, and other developers to design and implement interactive 3D content to meet client needs
Develop, optimize, and maintain Unreal and Unity applications showcasing different user experiences
Knowledge of 360 Degree camera production and setup
